Shieldly — Privacy Policy

In short: Shieldly does not collect, transmit, or share any of your personal data. All your warranty data stays on your device and, optionally, in your personal iCloud account.

Data Collection

1. What We Collect

Shieldly does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with us or any third parties. All warranty data you enter is stored locally on your device and, if you choose, synced to your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit.

Local Storage

2. Data Stored on Your Device

The app stores the following data locally:

Warranty item details (product name, purchase date, expiration date, store name, price, notes)
Receipt photos you attach to warranty items
App preferences (language, theme, notification settings)

This data never leaves your device unless you enable iCloud sync.

iCloud

3. iCloud Sync

If iCloud is enabled on your device, your warranty data may be synced across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit service. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

Permissions

4. Camera and Photo Library

Shieldly requests access to your camera and photo library solely to allow you to scan receipts and attach photos to warranty items. Images are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to any external server.

5. Notifications

The app may request permission to send local push notifications to remind you about expiring warranties. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and no data is sent externally.

Purchases

6. In-App Purchases

Shieldly offers a one-time premium purchase through Apple's App Store. All purchase transactions are handled by Apple. We do not collect or store any payment information.

Tracking

7. Analytics and Tracking

Shieldly uses TelemetryDeck to collect anonymous usage statistics (e.g. which features are used and how often). TelemetryDeck does not collect personal data or device identifiers — all data is anonymized before it reaches the servers and cannot be linked to you. We never see your warranty data, receipts, or any personal information, and there is no advertising tracking. Learn more in TelemetryDeck's privacy policy.

8. Children's Privacy

Shieldly does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app does not collect any personal data from any user.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
